2022 Annual Paving Project

Project Description

This project provides for improvements to ADA facilities and pavement preservation on Woods Creek Road from US 2 to Tjerne Pl SE. The anticipated work includes placement of fiber reinforced Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA), pavement repair, planing or grinding, construction of ADA ramps, pavement markings, utility adjustments, temporary traffic control and other associated work. In addition, this project includes updating pavement markings at other locations throughout the City.

Project Update

This project was advertised for contractor bids on May 27th and June 3rd. The Engineer’s probable cost opinion was $425,000. Three bids were received and opened on June 14th, with bids ranging from $606,430 to $681,003, inclusive of sales tax. The following contractors submitted the two lowest bids:

• Apparent Low: Lakeridge Paving Company $606,430
• Apparent Second Low: Granite Construction Company $667,846

After review, state licensing verification, and reference calls, the lowest responsive bidder is Lakeridge Paving Company and is being offered the construction contract at the June 28th City Council meeting.
