Chain Lake Road Improvements

Chain Lake Road plays an important role in the City of Monroe's roadway network. The road serves unincorporated Snohomish County and is the main corridor that residential properties in north Monroe use to access commercial shopping an state highways.

The Chain Lake Road Bike Path was completed in 2022 and provided increased pedestrian safety along this corridor. Additional improvements are necessary to increase safety while keeping traffic flowing. A mid-block Rapid Rectangular Flashing Beacon will be installed during the 2025 RRFB Installation project during the summer of 2025.

The City's 2025-2044 Comprehensive Plan Update identified Chain Lake Road as needing intersection improvements at Rainier View Rd and Brown Rd. The City is pursuing public Grants to focus on the Traffic Studies and determine appropriate solutions to increasing capacity while maintaining intersection safety.
