Responsibilities

The Building Division is responsible for building permit and code administration by providing plan review, inspection services, building code information, code enforcement and public outreach.  The Building Division provides life safety assurance and solution-oriented services to the city through the application of professional skills and adopted standards by regulating the construction, repair or alteration, demolition, and occupancy of all buildings and structures within the city. Our primary mission is to provide life safety and a better quality of living to the residents of the City of Monroe. 

Inspection Requests - Effective March 26, 2020

Per Governor Inslee’s "Stay Home, Stay Healthy" order, the City of Monroe will cease all construction related inspections for structures not considered to be an essential activity. Additional information can be found here.
