Our department staff support nine departments in their recruitment, hiring, and labor relations efforts to bring on qualified employees to join our highly productive, customer-focused municipal services organization.

The City employs over 130 full-time employees who are dedicated to building a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace where everyone feels they belong.

Human Resources core services

  • Workers’ compensation coordination

Staff also provide support to the Civil Service Commission and the Law Enforcement Officers and Fire Fighters Plan – 1 (LEOFF-1) Disability Board.  Additionally, Human Resources is the point of contact for complaints regarding Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and Americans with Disabilities Act, as well as Risk Management.
