Thank you for your interest in applying for a current job opening. We realize that you will have questions about the application, interview, and selection process. If you haven’t already, please review our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) before submitting your online application. 

Online application process

All job openings for us are posted to a third-party, online application portal, GovernmentJobs.com, hosted by NEOGOV. 

The City of Monroe does not manage the site and is not responsible for its availability. Online applications are stored on a secure site. Only authorized employees and hiring authorities have access to the information submitted.

Tips for successful application

We want you to have a successful application process and offer the following tips:

• Use Chrome, Firefox, or Internet Explorer 10 or higher when using the GovernmentJobs.com portal.
• Create an account on GovernmentJobs.com.  Consult the Application Guide.
• View City of Monroe, WA openings. 
• Complete the online application form, including any supplemental forms. Do not indicate “See Resume.” 
• Be truthful with information on your application as any misrepresentation or falsification may be grounds for disqualification. 
• Submit one application per job opening. Your application can be saved and used to apply for more than one job opening.  
• Give adequate time to apply online. The City of Monroe is not responsible for the technical difficulties of the GovernmentJobs.com site.  
• Apply by the date and time specified by the posting. Typically, applications are due by 5 p.m. on a date specified. 
• Ensure your contact information is current in NEOGOV account.
• Contact us if you need accessibility accommodations in submitting your application due to a disability. 

Our review process

Due to the high volume of applications we receive, it takes time to review each one. We thank you for your patience. 

Once the posting has closed, every applicant will be evaluated on their qualifications specific to the position. If you are selected to advance in the recruitment process, you may be requested to take an exam in addition to an interview. If you are not selected to advance, you will be notified via email. 

Monroe Police Department openings

If you’re interested in an entry-level police officer position, you’ll need to initiate your application process for civil service examinations with National Testing Network.  You will need to create an account with a username and password.
