Inj/Disp: Severe head trauma transported by aid to Valley General Hospital and was pronounced deceased shortly after arrival. **Note – victim has not yet been identified and next of kin has not been notified

Vehicle one, a pickup was stopped at the intersection of Eastbound SR 2 at Old Owen Road behind another vehicle. Witnesses reported that the pickup was revving the engine and then went around the first vehicle and struck the bicyclist in the intersection. The bicyclist was then struck by two other vehicles as they proceeded through the intersection.

Vehicle one, described as a light colored large pickup continued eastbound on SR 2 towards Sultan. Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the collision or have additional information about the light colored large pickup, to call the Monroe Police Department at 360-794-6300 or their anonymous tip line at 360-863-4600.

The Washington State Patrol has responded to assist with this investigation. Evidence has been collected from the scene and police are attempting to identify the hit and run vehicle.

Weather Conditions: Raining, Dark
