[ARCHIVED] Two Arrested in Store Burglary

Officers arrested two males involved in a March 30th burglary of the Quality Sleep shop in the 19600 block of SR 2, Monroe. On that night, officers responded to an alarm in which one of the glass doors of the store had been broken to gain entry. The store owner said the money from the till had been taken. He also stated that he had received a phone call from an employee that night before closing to advise him of a last minute sale in which the customer had paid half of the purchase cost (about $220) with 50-cent coins. There were no suspects at the time of the burglary.

As officers continued their investigation, Coinstar was contacted and they were able to locate a payout where a large amount of 50-cent coins had been turned in at the QFC in Woodinville. Through use of the store surveillance footage, officers developed information leading to the possible identity of the individuals involved, one being the employee who closed the store the night of the burglary. That employee was asked to come in for an additional interview on April 17th and he arrived with two other males in his vehicle, one who appeared to be the other person seen in the surveillance footage. During interviews with both subjects, they confessed to the burglary and arrests were made.

Christopher Freeman-Manley, age 21 of Monroe and Reeve Wurmnest, age 23 of Bothell were arrested for 2nd Degree Burglary. Charges have been forwarded to the prosecutor.
