JULY 16, 2025: CITY OF MONROE UNDER STAGE 2 BURN BAN THRU 11 PM TONIGHT, NO OUTDOOR BURNING
Snohomish Regional Fire & Rescue (SRFR) has issued a Stage 2 Burn Ban for the Cities of Monroe, Sultan and Lake Stevens effective Tues. July 16, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Outdoor burning is prohibited.
This local burn ban, issued by SRFR Fire Marshal Mike Messer, is consistent with the Stage 2 Burn Ban issued by Snohomish County for unincorporated areas.
Yesterday, the US National Weather Service Seattle issued a Red Flag Warning for hot, dry and unstable conditions in the Cascade Range and foothills, including Snohomish County. A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either imminent or occurring. Any fires that develop will likely spread quickly.
When a Red Flag Warning is in place, all outdoor burning is prohibited, in the affected area, including recreational fires. A Red Flag Warning means high fire danger with increased probability of a quickly spreading wildfire.
Thank you for keeping Monroe safe and complying with this and all Burn Bans.
