[ARCHIVED] Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. raised his voice to challenge Americans to make freedom a reality for all, and to believe each of us is created equally. Mayor Thomas and the City of Monroe recognize January 18 as Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. City offices will be closed in observance. Mayor Thomas encourages Monroe residents to remember and reflect on the profound contributions made by Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Full text of the Mayor's Proclamation can be found here.
