Public Works

The Public Works Department is responsible for the construction, operations, maintenance, repair, and management of the City's water, sanitary sewer, stormwater, and transportation systems. The Public Works Department also is responsible for the emergency management program of the City of Monroe.

The Design & Construction Division is primarily responsible for the design and management of City funded capital improvement projects for the City's transportation, water distribution, stormwater management, and wastewater collection and treatment systems. It is also responsible for the review of private development plans to ensure they meet the City's engineering standards.

The day to day operations of the City's utility systems are managed by the Operations & Maintenance Division.
