Title VI: Civil Rights Act

The City of Monroe assures that no person shall on the grounds of race, color, national origin, or sex as provided by Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and the Civil Rights Restoration Act of 1987 (P.L.100.259) be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be otherwise subjected to discrimination under any City- sponsored program or activity. The City of Monroe further assures every effort will be made to ensure nondiscrimination in all of its programs and activities, whether those programs and activities are federally funded or not. Should someone feel that they could not participate in government-sponsored events or otherwise be discriminated against per Title VI, that person may file a grievance/complaint using the forms  Grievance Form in English.PDF or Grievance Form in Spanish.PDF.
