Monroe Rotary Park is an all-weather youth baseball facility specifically designed to be ADA accessible and to house Miracle League. The facility opened in 2008 after a successful fundraising effort by the Monroe Rotary Club. The Miracle League, co-started by the Rotary Club and Monroe Family YMCA, was formed as a youth baseball league for children with special needs.
Through an agreement with the City of Monroe, the facility was deeded to the City to maintain and schedule for priority use by the Miracle League; and secondarily for use by other community youth sports organizations.
The Miracle League was formed as a youth baseball league for children with diverse abilities. It offers these children an opportunity to suit up in a uniform, step up to the plate, and enjoy playing the game of baseball in its purest form. It is a dream most of them would not be able to realize as members of a traditional youth league. Everyone hits, everyone gets on base, and everyone comes home. No one keeps score. You would never know it by listening to the cheers of enthusiastic parents and siblings in the stands or teammates on the field.
