Shoreline Master Program

Lake Tye

Periodic Update

Your input in this process is valuable to the creation of a successful document.

The City of Monroe is undertaking a periodic review of its Shoreline Master Program (SMP). The Shoreline Management Act (SMA) requires each SMP be reviewed and revised, if needed, on an eight-year schedule established by the Legislature. The review ensures the SMP stays current with changes in laws and rules, remains consistent with other Monroe plans and regulations, and is responsive to changed circumstances, new information and improved data.

Needed Updates & Revisions:

The Monroe Parks Master Plan was developed to ensure that the Cadman Site and Lake Tye are improved according to a common vision as presented by the citizens of Monroe. In achieving this goal, the City is updating its SMP to include elements addressed in the Parks Master Plan, update State mandated regulations, and revise sections of the Shoreline Management Recommendations that do not reflect existing conditions of the City.
