Winter weather conditions will initiate mobilization of the City of Monroe Winter Weather Response Policy. Sanding and/or plowing equipment will be implemented based upon an established priority list including: emergency response service routes, main arterial roads, collector roads, and known high risk hills and curves.
During major or prolonged snowstorm events the City will post updates via social media and the City website on the snow removal efforts.
The City has three snowplows to clear 52 lane miles. The Public Works Department will be available for around-the-clock snow removal operation for all roads. If snowfall or freezing rain continues/resumes before the City has been able to clear your street, please understand that all efforts continue on priority routes for public safety. Once the City is able to clear priority routes, non-designated streets may be serviced.
It is inevitable that driveways will be blocked during plowing operations. We’re sorry for this inconvenience, but please understand that it can’t be avoided.
