City Communications and Outreach
The City of Monroe understands that information about our services, programs, events, and projects is important to the community when decisions need to be made that affect the community. City departments strive to be a trusted source of city information by providing timely and accurate information consistently using various communications tools. We endeavor to inform and engage all persons of all ages and abilities to ensure, as our Mission Statement reflects, that “everyone feels at home, and everyone feels they belong.”

Look for city mailers
Citywide mailers inform the community about city services and significant projects. They also encourage participation by all community members in workshops, open houses, and public presentations. Mailers sent to certain areas are intended to inform residential and commercial neighborhoods about projects near their homes and businesses.
Each April, homes in the Monroe area receive the annual Events Guide that lists special events planned for the spring through winter.
Enjoy tourism and visitor publications
As part of Monroe’s tourism initiatives, the following two high-quality magazines are published:
- Choose Monroe is our tourism branded magazine published in February and June by the Monroe Chamber of Commerce.
- Sno/Sky Adventure Guide is a regional visitor-focused magazine published in partnership with other cities and made available in May and October.
Submit a service request
“Monroe Listens” is our customer request system. Requests for service (e.g. pothole repair) and code violation complaints (e.g. construction without a permit) can be submitted online. Requests are forwarded to the appropriate department for a timely response.
Participate in city meetings
Monroe City Council and advisory board meetings are a unique way to learn how the city works toward the goals and objectives of the City’s Mission Statement. Meetings provide an opportunity for public comment. Visit the Meeting & Agenda page for city meeting dates, times, and locations.
Community input is important to planning and project development; community members are encouraged to participate. Should anyone need an accommodation (e.g. interpreter) to participate, please call City Hall reception at 360-794-7400. Check our Calendar page for current happenings.
